Does anyone else constantly have to battle the site going here:

<link removed in case it might contain spam or virus>

Instead of to http://www.backyardchickens.com ?

I don't know why; but, I spend an inordinate amount of time having to hit the back button so I can actually see the site. Sometimes I get redirected so much that I just have to walk away a bit or else chuck the machine out the window.

It looks like a java/flash code is getting messed up somewhere and hijacking the link; but....I dunno.

What browser are you using?

Exploder 9 and 10.

Get it with Chrome, too. Haven't tried Mozilla, yet. Been happening for a while. From seven different machines, four different OSs and three different brower versions/types. :'( It eventually lets me in...obviously. It is just frustrating.

In the meantime, do a good anti-virus scan on your system. There could be a malware infection that is redirecting you.

Does it happen when you try any other website, or just BYC?

We'll look into this, but we'll need more specifics including:

What page you were on, which link you clicked on, exactly what happened, etc.

This will help us duplicate and hopefully fix the problem.

Page was provided, sweetie. Http://www.barnyardchickens.com (the home page). It happens on the home page more often than any of the other pages. It will happen on some of the others when I initially go to the page. It's an intermittent issue that I cannot reliably reproduce under step by step circumstances. It does seem to be an initial hit issue, however. Once my cache has taken in the page (my cache and everything purge when I close my browser), the problem is significantly less likely to occur.

I come into BYC, I get sent to the deleted link. I hit the back button, I may or may not wind up on BYC instead of the broken redirect. Rinse and repeat until the page decides to load. At which point, the likelihood of a re-occurrence is less than 5% (so far).

It happens more often when I come into BYC (or any of its sub pages) and attempt to scroll before the page has fully loaded.

It does not happen on my phone (Galaxy SIII nor my tablet ASUS TF700).

OSs that is has happened in: Windows Server 2012, Windows Enterprise 7, Windows 8, RHEL 6.3
Browsers it has happened on: IE 8, IE 9, IE 10, Chrome 24.0.1312.57 m

I can load Mozilla and Opera and see if it happens in those, as well. But, as I said - it is not reliably reproduced, which is why I hesitated to say anything and was curious if anyone else was experiencing similar behaviour.

I will keep notes on when, specifically, it occurs and attempt to get a reliably reproducible scenario for you.

Just BYC, hon. And, the code is clearly BYC related :) They removed it so you can't see; but, it was some sort of java/flash call that wasn't quite completing. I think my trying to scroll before the page loads may be triggering a break for some reason.

My AV scans live and every day. I have three malware scans that run, daily (that was fun, getting them to not try to kick each other off the system). I also have firewalls from hell, etc. Not saying it isn't possible that I have some sort of virus or malware somewhere on my system; however, it's pretty unlikely.

I have windows 7 and use fire-fox and while I don't have the problem you are having I have had some strange little quirks I have experienced over the past 3 or 4 months and even seen a time or two people posting about the same or similar problems I am having I figure it's just either the website, my connection or my computer having a bad day and it usually clears up in a couple of days. I know that there was an update done to BYC today because I say the sky is falling page when I tried to go to the site today, and occasionally I have a fire-fox or windows update, so I figure it's a minor problem not occurring often enough for me to try to figure out what may be wrong with my computer then bother a moderator here if everything checks okay on my end......

Yeah, I saw it last night when I went to bed.

This "issue" has been ongoing for the time I've been on the site. I'd think it was my computer except that it's happened on multiple platforms at multiple locations (work and home). I did not intend to drag the admins in - I just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing a similar quirk. I'd have opened a technical issue if I had been able to provide reliably reproducible results. My job is QA - I'm pretty stringent on my people about what I will and will not allow to be submitted as a defect. If it cannot be pinned down and isolated to a series of steps, it cannot be submitted. If it is on a singular system only, it cannot be submitted. Etc. I was trying to gather information so that I could further my own knowledge of potential sources for the bug. It was unusual enough and across enough platforms that I wondered how prevalent the issue was - or if it was just "me" (ie: fairly isolated).

Do you mean "barnyardchickens" or "backyardchickens"?

**laughs** backyardchickens. It's been a long day
